Country singer Kacey Musgraves and heritage denim label Lee, founded in 1889, launched a 100-piece Walmart-exclusive capsule called “Kacey Lee” on Monday, May 19, 2026, with prices starting at $8. The collection is named after Musgraves’ actual middle name and is being sold at 2,100 Walmart Supercenters and on walmart.com.

Fashion items in the line are priced $8 to $42. Accessories and pet apparel run $6 to $25. The launch coincides with Musgraves’ seventh studio album, “Middle of Nowhere,” released May 1, and a fan event at the Walmart Supercenter in Franklin, Tennessee on Monday evening.
The deal marks Lee’s first major celebrity fashion collaboration of this scale and arrives as parent company Kontoor Brands moves to divest the denim brand. It follows Musgraves’ recent Depop shop earlier this year and her appearance at the ACM Awards 2026 red carpet in Las Vegas on May 17, two days before the Walmart drop.
What’s in the Kacey Lee Collection
The capsule covers six product categories across women’s, men’s, swim, sleep, accessories and pet apparel. Lee and Walmart confirmed the full assortment of 100 SKUs is available in stores and online from launch day.
Women’s Pieces
Womenswear leads on denim. The line includes high-rise bootcut jeans with star-print detailing, denim vests, carpenter jeans, two-inch inseam shorts, cheeky shorts and cropped chore jackets. The silhouettes lean into Americana workwear shapes that align with denim’s 2026 runway revival, which has pushed retro fits back into the mainstream.
Men’s Pieces
Menswear is built around Western shirts, straight-leg relaxed jeans, paisley-print utility jackets and carpenter shorts cut in classic hickory stripe. The men’s offering is smaller in volume than the women’s range but follows the same vintage workwear playbook.
Accessories and Pet Apparel
The collection also includes graphic T-shirts and hats printed with lyrics from Musgraves’ albums, swimwear, sleepwear and a pet line inspired by her dog, Pepper. The swim component echoes a broader celebrity strategy seen in Roxy x Juicy Couture swimwear collaboration earlier this year.
Design Inspiration: Texas Roots and Album Aesthetics
The capsule draws on Musgraves’ Texas heritage, vintage workwear references and direct visual cues from “Middle of Nowhere.” Album lyrics appear on graphic tees and hats throughout the assortment.
“It feels fresh, modern — perfect for enjoying summer concerts,” said Vivian Rivetti, Lee’s vice president of global design, in a statement to WWD. Musgraves, an eight-time Grammy Award winner, described the partnership as “a natural fit” given her long-standing connection to denim and vintage workwear.
Pricing and Where to Buy
The Kacey Lee collection is available at Walmart nationwide and online. Apparel prices range from $8 to $42. Accessories and pet items range from $6 to $25. Walmart+ members received priority early access at the Franklin launch event.
The price architecture mirrors the accessibility playbook used in other recent celebrity-mass retail tie-ups, including Victoria Beckham x Gap and Lizzo’s Yitty swim expansion, both of which prioritized sub-$50 entry points.
Launch Event: Franklin, Tennessee
Musgraves hosted a fan meet-and-greet at the Walmart Supercenter at 3600 Mallory Lane in Franklin, Tennessee, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. local time on May 19. The first 300 customers who purchased both a Kacey Lee item and the “Middle of Nowhere” album on the day received signed copies of the album.
A Walmart-exclusive vinyl edition of “Middle of Nowhere,” pressed in Dusty Denim with an iron-on patch, also debuted at the event. Musgraves previously generated viral attention for the album campaign by going undercover in an armadillo costume to buy her own record at a Walmart store.
Industry Context: Lee Jeans Amid Ownership Transition
The collaboration arrives at a transitional moment for Lee. Parent company Kontoor Brands is divesting the label to focus on Wrangler and Helly Hansen. Lee reported $195 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2026.
Authentic Brands Group is the reported frontrunner to acquire Lee in a transaction expected to close later this year, according to Authentic Brands Group’s reported acquisition of Lee. The Kacey Lee launch represents a significant brand-marketing push ahead of that ownership change.
The deal also fits Walmart’s accelerating fashion strategy. The retailer’s marketplace fashion category grew more than 40 percent in fiscal year 2026, and celebrity-led capsules — alongside parallels in the broader market such as the Coach x Brain Dead tie-up — remain a central tool for driving private-brand mix.
